DESTINY

Destiny.
Who is she?
Will I meet her
only at heavens door?
Where life is eternal
and pain no more.
Or will she beckon me
to hell infernal,
and everlasting infamy.

Will I call her another name?
Will I welcome her
all the same?
If, I perish in ignominy.
Will she grant me immortal fame?
Vain, I cherish posterity.

Will I blush, hesitate?
Will I love, fear, hate?
Sleepless, I wonder;
Will my efforts bear fruit?
or be peeled asunder.
My mouth waters
for but a taste,
A solitary inkling,
of my fate.


At the time of reckoning
May my mind be tempered.
Amongst those I loved,
might I be remembered,
if not to have won,
to with courage, have fought.
But now I must forsake
this melancholy thought.
My spirit is free!
Come hither my destiny.
My teeth are grit
and I am ready
