Before you left I said goodbye,

When you left I had to cry.

For your face I would never set eyes on again.

Taking your last breath, I closed my eyes,

and watched as heaven let you in.

As you turned to make sure, you had no tears, no sadness on your face.

As I witnessed this, a tear fell and I told you to go into his grace.

I opened my eyes and looked around the room,

to see this room full of gloom.

I replayed the moment you said goodbye,

and realized, Jr., there's no reason to cry.

Cause you never said goodbye to me,

You said by your side I'll always be.
