LIFE: IN THE NEW WORLD
![]()
I was born
twenty years ago,
On that fateful day.
Born in a small barnyard,
That's what people say.
Twenty years is not a long time,
And even though I have committed no crime
I stand before the jury above,
Trapped in a cage,
Like a small little dove.
I know the result
But I am not scared.
For I have only a rupee,
For a thousand of theirs.
The richer man always gets away,
In a land
where corruption holds sway.
A poor man's life is always unjust,
In a land where money buys power and trust.
Hence, Today I stand,
Dressed in black and ready to hang,
My life has ended with the song I just sang.
