COUNTING STARS (2)
I look up at
the heaven
and the stars that I see are eleven
the twelfth one is beside me
sharing every moment in my life- my friends 'n' family
I see the eleven stars 'n' wonder
why was I struck by such a thunder
for few of these stars, as people I never got to see,
though they have a lot to do with what constitutes to
my identity.
All those twinkling eleven stars up there
are those who on my family 'n' me have showered their
love 'n' care
out of those, four of them, are my 'dadu' ' dadi' ' nanu' and
'nani'
have seen them only in pictures and have heard about
them in 'kahani'
Though down here, the twelfth one right beside me
has given me a brighter prospective of life to see
those who left me naturally or unnaturally didn't
bother to stay
down here with me are those people for my happiness
who always pray
The rest twinkling that are remaining there
are broken relationships for whom I didn't care
they were people once to whom I related as friends
but I guess in the broken relationships I didn't try
enough to make amends
Realising the things the twelfth has told me
still there's one thing remaining that I see
I love those eleven coz they're my past and contribute
to my personality
and the twelfth one down here I love coz they are my
present and a part of me
