COUNTING STARS

I sit in the black night
And look up at heaven
I try and count the stars
But I can only count eleven.

I try and find the twelfth one
But it's a little beyond me
Then I look around and
See that it's flickering around me.

It shines so bright
When befalls the night
It gives me the courage
To stand up and sweat with all my might.

It shines with the light of integrity
And makes me distinguish between right and wrong
It pats on my back for every action that's correct
And in fault, it punishes me and makes me mentally strong.

It shines with the light of motivation
And never let's me loose out on hope
Boosts my morale in life's game tug n war
To pull on my side the people and the rope.

It shines with the light of love
And never asks for anything in exchange
But never does it object or oppose
No matter in what course of work do I engage.

It shines with the light of trust
The faith it has in me
For it knows, I shall toil and slog, so that
Pride and appreciation of my being it gets to see.

The star is no one else
But my friend philosopher and guide
Giving me love constantly
My family - forever by my side

No wonder the star
Cannot be spotted in heaven
Coz its forever with me, when I look up
I'm glad that I get to see only eleven..
