My Prayer
This is my prayer to you O Lord
Teach me the wisdom to see the wrong
Help me obviate the things I don’t need
Let me understand success is not being rich
Let me discern people who sing my glory, not my
friends
People who care are always behind
Let me see the white and gray
Good and nice
Love and like
Jealousy and kindness
Authenticity and reality
Death and passing
Take away the impediments to
happiness
Weariness of what I have
And a desire for what have not
Set me straight from vagrant thoughts
Make me the stentorian for
the just cause
Help me leave a mark as I end my journey
Do not make me a culpable human
Vanquish my petty desires.
Teach me the wisdom to see the light.
