Laughter In The Rain

There was laughter in the rain,
the day you rescued me,
only one umbrella, could it be,
the rumble of thunder boasting above,
aware of my happiness there?
closer now arm in arm together,
with every step my heart skipped a beat,
an endearing smile you seemed to understand
for tenderly you touched my hand
On top the umbrella were rapping sounds,
while the rains with the flowers,
staged their ballet upon the grounds
when just as suddenly the sun did appear,
where by the flowers the umbrella now lay,
so began our whirlwind of love.
