40 PLUS

It’s been a few months today

Since I joined the 40 plus

Some see twilight at this age

While “life begins” for the rest of us …

Many are proud of our temples grey

Other’s hate the stubble white

About a third feel sluggish all day

As many pop Valium at night.

Life races by, much faster past

Takes more, to keep up with time

Blood sugar and cholesterol

Befriend us in this age prime.

We wake up to an aching back,

Can’t start the day sans morning tea –

And by the time we are wide awake

The world is waiting for you and me !

Decisions ! Actions ! Strategies, plans !

Hours tick by in a jiffy ..

A hurried lunch (lovingly packed)

And endless cups of coffee and tea

Later in the evening, fresh from a bath

An hour of active ‘fatherhood’

Hearing out domestic woes

Life has NEVER been THIS good !
