A QUESTION ANSWERED

What is the measure

Of a true love I once him asked,

Is it one who unknowingly gladdens,

And gently pulls at the strings of the heart?

How would I know him

My only love, when we do meet,

From the several in life’s journey,

As the “One” whom I since eons do seek?

With eyes that twinkled,

Gravely did “Cat’s Eyes” reply,

Ask yourself a small simple truth

Would you grow old with him amidst a smile?

My heart answered then,

Though my lips spoke not a word,

Yes my dear, together we could age,

Though you be in yours and I be in my world
