TO MOM WITH LOVE

My dear mom, today is a special day

Not just for you who was born this day

But also for me who was born because of you.

You gave me a birth, enduring all the pain.

And made me relax in your sweet lap.

Though this little child of yours

Could have troubled you in more ways than one

You bore it all with your motherly heart.

You shower me with your ever-persistent love

And let me relax in your sheltering arms.

If not for you I wouldn’t be up today

To relish the beauty of the world around.

Under the safe haven of your love I’m most secure

And not a thing in this world would harm me.

I wished to give back the love you deluge on me

But, Love isn’t measured in carats of gold or diamond

So I vent out a litany of words to tell you

How much I love you, on a special day in our lives!
