“TODAY”

Today is better day
Today there’s a lesson learnt
Today nothing pains anymore
Today, the heart’s wholly burnt.

Today life’s an uneventful journey
Today jokes no more provoke laughter
Today love has a new meaning
Today, I strive for a new chapter.

Today, I hear music, never listen
Today, I dress up, never look fine
Today I smile, never laugh
Today, I eat, but I never dine.

Today life means to keep existing
Today shopping means buying to spend
Today tragic movies seem so relevant
Today I know there’s nothing to mend.

Today means twenty-four long hours
Today, aware of each second that passes
Today I know not what to wait for
Today, I no more count my losses.

Today means nothing, but another day
Today means I’ll have to breathe—‘again’,
Today I have no tears to shed
Today, I know tears have nothing to gain.

Yet, today is a better day
Today I have no hopes that’ll shatter
Today profits mean lack of losses…
Today, life really doesn’t matter.
