Fiery flame burned my terrified heart!

When someone went all out to prove that I was wrong,

When I asserted I was very secure and strong.

With cruel triumph gazed as my world come crashing down

And crumbled to its roots - deep beneath the ground!

 

And I looked around helplessly wondering

How on shaky ground to stand?

What lay for me in store?

Whose gentle and firm hand

Will guide me to the shore?

 

And then stealthily some subtle changes!

Butterflies flitted and trees sprinkled flowers

Sun and Moon went with me not caring for the hours

On my journey not knowing where or how far

But God smiled these blessings from the altar.

 

And those changes were forever!

Every step I took with blessings mixed

And everywhere I saw was light!

And God had had the paths so fixed

That no path but the one I chose was right!

 

And how surely my steps went forward!

Like a happy child I skipped along

Loudly singing a happy song,

Gamballing along like a giddy lamb,

Laughing off the danger like a healthy scamp.

 

For with God on my side, it's a joyful ride

There's no more to be said,

There's just happiness ahead!
