The sky is streaked with bars of gold
I look up at the rays and wonder --
If HOPE was born here

A pearl shines upon the majestic lily
I tread softly on the velvet green and wonder --
If PRIDE came to life thus

I look into the clear blue of the sea
The crystal white of the foam and wonder --
If VIRTUE sprang into life here

I raise my head up to the mountains
Freckled with tiny shrubs, and wonder --
If AMBITION was born in this way

From far away I hear a lark's merry song
Mingled with a child's laughter and wonder --
If INNOCENCE took birth here

But I wonder most at the unknown creator --
The greatest wonder of all
