ABOUT CHASING DREAMS

When I was young, I used to
dream
And through the window of
my dreams,
I saw a world I longed to
be in,
A beautiful scene sure was
it,
Of a beautiful house among
the woods,
With blossoming flowers and
fruit bearing trees,
And lakes and valleys every
way I leaned.
The granaries full of rice
and spice,
With a work that gave me
full price.
I longed to live the life
of my dreams,
And ran and ran many a
mile,
To reach my destination, to
live my dream.
But on my way I missed many
a smile,
And caused scars I never
realized.
All I cared was to reach my
goal,
To run away, from my nature
and soul.
But when I reached where I
wanted to reach,
I found that it was but a
breach,
Was beautiful of course,
the woods and everything,
But on my way I had missed
out something.
It was just a landscape I
had chased,
Leaving out a beautiful
life on my way.
I found it empty and
uninspiring,
And something not worth
chasing.
I’ve learnt that life is
not what it appears to be,
And it’s not about where we
reach.
But how we reach is what’s
important
For that’s our life, a life
to live,
Following our hearts and
not our mind.
