I See God **

I see my god, right before me,

In every innocent smile I see, I see him.

Inside every affectionate pair of eyes, God resides.

Inside every kind heart, he constructs his temple.

The knowledge learnt from the books,

The wealth spent on a common cause,

The happiness gained from other’s success.

In all these selfless moments of life, I see the presence of god.

The honest hard-working poor man,

who lives his life on strength and sweat,

I heard an echo of laughter from his hut,

And could hear voice of god in it.

So my dear friend, look not for him,

In a church, temple or a Mosque,

For inside every affectionate pair of eyes, God resides.

Inside every kind heart, he constructs his temple.

**  This is a kind of  translation of a beautiful Tamil song, written by a poet 'Kannadasan'. I have tried to translate the subject of the song to the best of my capability. The song contains so much of good thought, that I feel it needs to reach a wider audience than just belong to people speaking one particular language
