Homecoming
Its spring in all its greenery and charm, The days are bright and full of life, It would be a shame for one, Not to enjoy the beauty of this time. But somewhere deep within me, I sense a sleepless, restless soul, It’s not like what it used to be, Maybe because its time to go home. Home, yes, home sweet home. It’s been a year since I’ve been home. And it’s been a year since I’ve been thinking of home. Counting every extra dollar I save, to make my next visit home. The tickets have come and have been confirmed, And the long list of shopping is done, The bills are paid and the neighbors told goodbye, Now all I’ve to do is go to the airport and fly. Parents and siblings are waiting there, To welcome the successful offspring back home, Despite the old age, the heat and the odd time, Everyone is at the airport, an hour before arrival time. And not to forget the ladylove, For though she might not be present there, She sits and gazes at the moonlight sky, To see the plane fly safely by. ~ Deep ~
