SUPER HERO

If only I could be no different,
One of millions in a crowd,
Soon lost in the multitude,
No world to save,
No wishes to fulfill,
Hidden in the swarm,
Only my isolation for company,
The rest shut out,
A land where none intervene.

If only they knew,
Such a retreat I wish for,
Where the troubles of the world
No longer need my service,
I lie down in peace,
All battles postponed,
A moment to my own,
For all that I love,
The birds and their songs,
The sweet music in my ears,
Deferring the difficulties to come,
The moments of trial,
Before harsh cries call me back
To my responsibilities.

If only they realized,
I'm a coward at heart,
Pushed to greatness by compulsion,
Not wanting the tag,
Wishing I had never responded,
Let someone else accept the challenge,
But there's no escape now,
The helplessness must be overcome
For the conclusion lies within me,
Though I am defenceless,
I still have to be a hero.
