We run this system

"Hey mister", someone shrieked,
You are at the wrong counter,
I walked to the next counter,
The receptionist gave me a stern look,
Please wait was all she said.

It was my fourth attempt,
To get my documents scrutinized
A formality that should,
last less than fifteen minutes.
Yet it seems like eternity, work still pending.

No matter wherever you are
At a government office or,
a local post department.
They always make you,
Hate the system.

Why for God's sake,
There are always two ways,
Of getting things done.
Why people need to be motivated,
Just to fulfill their daily responsibilities?

Consider your raft caught in turbulent sea,
All you do is row,
Till you reach a safe island
There is no motivation just instinct
Coz, life is precious.

So is this system,
It fails if we fail,
There are no loopholes
Only lack of human commitment
After all, it's we who run this system.
