The doors are closed,the windows draped...
The darkness screaming...
In a world of silence...
Crying...for the lost light...
Seeking...for what is right...
Wary...of the eternal night...
sickened...by its own plight...
yearning...for a final flight...

The desperation is writ large...
The frustration is stifling...
The nerves are taut...
Patience is in doubt...

The screams get louder...ostensibly...
Despair is inevitable...
Hope...damnable...
Reason to live...gullible...
Quest for truth...laughable...
Wish for joy...culpable!!...

And now...silence at last...
the strains of a requiem...
drifting through the air...
praying for the soul...
that was lost...
in the wilderness...
