WHEN

When the corn has turned from green to golden
When the laden stalks are heavy with harvest
Chase away the sparrows ; chase away the sparrows
that come to steal the golden corn .

When the sparkling water runs clear
When the afternoon was hot and dusty
Go dip your warm body in the coolness
Go dip your body and wash clean of a day’s hard work .

When your life has reached its summer’s time
When your children need to be nurtured ,educated and loved
Carry the burden man ; carry the burden and be a good parent.

When the days of life is still fresh you are tall and straight
When you walk with long stride and a spring in every step
Be out there girl ; be out there girl ; be out there to mingle.

When the air is balm ; the leaves are green ; the sun is warm
When lilies bloom everywhere in this valley
I’ll think of you ; I’ll think of you ; I’ll think of you.

When sleepy leaves lay motionless on a painted flower
When the air is stuffy , the wind cease and time stand still .
