The Turbulent Mind
Don't go by apparent calmness-what if the surface is smooth and plain?
Turbulence probably rages inside- the core may be troubled and seething
with
pain.
The inner core of the earth is molten lava and singes
However life thrives above in the form of smiling roses.
Inside the ocean there is fierce savagery- the battle for life is intense.
But on surface-we see but calmness- sparkling fluorescence of friendly
waves.
The vast sky looks most assuring with gentle breezes and twinkling stars
But danger lurks there too, in lightning, thunder and shooting stars.
What is true in the physical world- also holds sway in the realm of mind
There are faces calm and serene but they are trying to hide turbulent
mind.
It is the wrinkled, weather-beaten faces that are deceptive at best
The irony is that basically they are very sincere and honest.
They are old- at the journey's end- their forces are spent
They are hurt to be treated with negligence and contempt.
But they try to brave it up and cover our insensitivity
Even today they tower large before our minuscule entity.
They are people once very dear in our life-our father, our mother, our
mentor and guide.
Their love and care inspired us- we stretched confidently with them at our
side
They are loving souls- they don't want to humiliate the generation next
Will we be just as considerate when faced with same predicament?
