RAIN
The sky is dull gray; it is going to rain.
The smoky black clouds are gathering again.
There is a lull-the wind is still.
Rain is awaited by parched land downhill.
As the clouds muster strength, the sun loses sting.
The show is about to open; with thunderous curtain rising.
The lightning flashes begin the show; raindrops drizzle.
Their sparkle, verve and elegance make the senses sizzle.
The rain soothes the hot skin; the air smells of wet soil.
Eyes feast on dancing drops; ears savour the rhythm of toil.
Children may be seen outdoors- playing, dancing and crying in joy
No one can fault them though, first showers are meant to enjoy.
The buffaloes in the meadows -enjoy and chew cud.
The flowers look fresh and vibrant after getting showered.
A stray cat licks herself; after getting drenched in shower
Paper boats sail in the rivulets - in majestic grandeur.
Thus capturing the whole canvas, rain enthralls everyone.
And at the end it springs a surprise-a rainbow on the horizon!
The fusion of colors-its dazzle and glow; fills us with wonder again and
again.
When showers stop, we begin to wait for clouds to come and rain again.
