The little Girl who dreamed,
of flying free in the skies,
of conquering the universe,
has flown today to heavens
nest,

The Woman who today is the Hero,
the model for a budding youth,
mapping the way for tomorrow,
to a gender who had none,

Her courage, Her Valor and dreams,
will be followed by so many,
who never thought,
that a little Punjabi girl,
could fly free in Space,

Today India and the world,
mourns a life lost,
but in keeping her dream alive,
would be a way to Honor Her,

Kalpana and Her comrades,
a different kind of Heroes,
those who defy fear with science,
like Eagles they fly free now,
all over the Universe.

They will never be forgotten.
