COOKING A POEM

As per the maxim goes
Stomach leads the way to heart
I am trying to cull out
A crispy poem- fresh from hearth.

I have a basket full of themes
I select a few to please your sense
Dishes will be savory, be sure.
Catering to all instinct with finesse.

With the menu fixed-I rinse the items
I chop, marinate, broil and add color
Baked or fried with proper seasoning
They get their distinct aroma and flavor.

The appetizer should be titillating, peppy
A hint of mystery makes it heady
As for the main course- the theme is heavy
Dress it with sauces and spice-is my secret recipe.

On the sides there is yogurt and salads to munch
The witty chitchat -a relief from grave details
Now the time is ripe for dessert
The haunting love stories will surely fit the place.

Has the spread been praiseworthy?
Are your gastronomic glands satisfied?
If so, then pray show appreciation
Certify me a poet bona fide.
