The Prodigal Lamb

A Wolf has snatched the fattest Lamb of all,

And spared the weaker ones just for today!

Blame not the Shepherd for the Lamb didnt call;

It had been foolish to have gone astray.

The Wolf had planned this act fore many days,

And lied of taking Lamb to greener mead;

The Lamb didnt know the Wolfs much wily ways,

And so got duped and went with Wolf instead.

The Lambs a life-long prisoner of the Wolf,

And serves its master new throughout its life;

It knows the blunder made was like a gulf;

For now, it has settled to be his wife!

       Some day, the Shepherd will retrieve the Lamb!

       Her heart then changed by my verse in iamb.
