The Chocolate Bar

A little girl maybe of six or seven,

Sat on a wooden bench.

In her chubby hands,

A huge creamy chocolate bar, she clenched.

In her own thoughts she sat alone,

In that lonely park.

And was suddenly disturbed,

By the sound of a very near bark.

Alarmed by the noise,

The little girl looked up,

Sweetly staring back at her,

Was an adorable pup.

The pup was alternating gazes,

From the girl to chocolate bar.

With such a twinkle in his eyes,

Like that of the stars.

Behind her back,

The girl hid the chocolate, quick.

But the poor little puppy,

Her hand he began to lick.

Cautiously the girl,

Gave it a small bite.

Happily the pup,

Ate it in the twilight.
