NATURE'S PART
I often walk the windy river path To discover where I should be. Passing the scores of racing wheels
Panting to meet me. They give a weak smile Oblivious to life around them
Only a few feet away, Flapping wings, making nests They never see.
Beauty that’s missed Is still beauty is it? I ask myself, settling down
To watch a fuzzy gray squirrel busy himself With today’s meal of nuts and seeds Scampering among leaves.
Ignoring me as a bystander That I am, Standing by to watch natures’ symphony
Played out in full scores In all the right keys, For all the right reasons.
