In Night's Lonely Care
In night's lonely care, I lay me down and wonder... Can it be... God is there, List'ning to my prayer? And though star lights glow, The darkness hides my loving God. Does he care...Does he know? Does he look below? My heart can only break, until the morning comes And once again my heart is numb to pain and sorrow; For the morrow I am waiting...and my heart can Only break, and I must lay me down.
~ Wendy Standford ~
The above is my lyric for a J.S. Bach Aria from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach. The melody is in 4/4 time, in the key of e-minor, and is played "andantino cantabile." I found that it was much easier for me to memorize the tune by giving it some words!
