Dear God

Today we woke up and as the day unfolded news of
terror quickly filled the air.
We sat, watched & listened without knowing how bad
this was because we weren't actually there.

With the look of shock & our faces filled with fear.
A hush fell across the room and all eyes begin to shed
their first tear

With thoughts of their own and some of just a friend..
How could this happen so quickly God and all these
people's lives come to an end

I heard how others looked at one another and wondered
"what can we do"?
So they took it upon themselves to do the only thing
they knew

Outside you could see them gather around the American
Flag one by one.
Holding hands & praying that GOD's will would be done

As the prayer ended & the singing of GOD Bless America
could be heard
They all said they had a little peace just knowing
that YOU had heard their every word

Mothers, fathers, children, law enforcement,
firefighters & everyday peoples lives have been taken
away
How is it possible GOD that someone had so much hatred
in their hearts to take away their freedom on this
September day?

GOD.. help give us strength to do what we need
Whether giving blood, volunteering, praying or even
someone's mouth we help feed

And if loved ones of our friends or of our own should
be called out for our country to fight
Let us remember each and everyone of them in our
prayers every single night

Don't let us direct our anger to the wrong person just
because we are mad with one another
But let us focus on what is important & remember that
this is a time to come together and lean on our
brother

GOD give us wisdom and the knowledge to do the things
that will help us overcome this nightmare and put our
lives back in place
We need to stand together GOD.because with our
strength and power no one can take our freedom from us
and destroy our human race.

Life is so precious and as much as we'd like to have
our family and friends with us always
An act of hatred can wipe out buildings, airplanes,
daycares, offices, federal buildings and take it all
away.

Remind us GOD to always be thankful for what we have
and for who we are
Don't let us hold a grudge, forget to forgive someone
or tell them how much we love them before we head out
in our car

Yes GOD.I'm proud to be an American and proud to hold
my head up high
And even knowing that an unkind act has taken part of
our freedom away.it will NEVER pass us by.

I thank you GOD for the friends and family that I have
been given and I pray that you would give us comfort,
peace and understanding in our heart
Bless each and everyone of them and never let us
forget that we SHALL overcome and how truly GREAT THOU
ART!
