FOR YOUR EYES
ONLY |
 |

The small child
In her mother's lap
Smiled.. At me as she
Heard me clap
Her face was a radiant glow
That only pure innocence would show
When she smiled , she blinked as well
Perhaps, to her mama she wanted to tell
She waved her little hands in joy..
She blushed a little, she looked so coy
Playing with my fingers, holding my hand
Shaking it around, as if it was a toy.
She walked with me holding me tight
Stumbled and fell.got up and smiled
Pointed at her eyes..beautiful and wide
Oh ! God no!..they were bereft of sight
We may be the one's to set it right
No place for hows and whys
Give her the world in its resplendent colours
Let us pledge today...to donate our eyes
