An anniversary to remember

A year has passed by, since it had all happened,
It is now history, yet another tragedy taught in
school.
When thousands of people were burnt alive,
To the explosive fuels of hatred, arisen out of just
about twenty hearts.
The amount of hatred so mammoth, so phenomenal,
That its curse will remain, till the end of the earth.
A day of doom, a year spent in gloom.
What was it supposed to prove, and what did it prove?
A few thousand lives ended, and a lot more wasted.
The world still remains the same; people still talk of
war without a shame!

I still remember the day, when I was in seventh grade,
A few tears rolled by, when I was taught the horrific
story of titanic.
Several hundred people drowned in the shivering cold
seas,
Buried deep in the Atlantic was the ambitious huge
ship.
But that was a reminder of the forces of nature,
What force will I attribute this tragedy to,
When I teach my children of the events of eleventh
September?

A day to regret, a day to remember, an anniversary,
To emphasize the importance of a rational mind.
Every parent and teacher, now has a responsibility,
To ensure the world does not face yet another day,
Where a few young men, driven by rigged ideologies
Plan to glorify their cause in ending a few thousand
lives.
Young minds should be taught to think for themselves,
And educated to live in a rational world, where
religions and relations
Will be just a guide to better life, and not a reason
to end human lives.
