RAMAYAN

Part – 27

Soorpanakha's Evil designs

One of the demons, Akambana,
Escaped from the arrows of Rama,
Ran to his demon king Ravan,
And described the entire scene.

Oh king, Ram the young warrior,
No words to describe his valour,
He, a fighter, an unbeatable man,
Slaughtered, in no time, all our men.”

He killed Khara and Dooshan,
The best of our Panchavati men,
You can't fight him straight,
And don't take his power light.”

“A plan you make cunning,
If you're desirous of winning,
Bring his wife Sita, the beauty,
Fit to be your queen pretty.”

“In the midst of his sorrow,
He'll lose his grip on the arrow,
The separation he can't bear,
So great is his lover for her.”

This idea seemed to be good,
As Sita's beauty Ravan heard.
He went to Mareecha straight,
To help him in this evil plot.

Not to risk, Mareecha told,
With Ram, not to be bold,
As he killed single handed,
Some demons' lives thus ended.

Ravan returned to his palace,
But in his mind, with no peace,
As defeat he accepted never,
In the tasks he took whatever.

Soorpanakha blasted him,
For not outright killing them.
And for revenge she forced him
To go and fight with them.

He went to Mareecha again,
Forced him in the plan to join,
To abduct and bring Sita in
By their joint skillful design.

In the trap, Mareecha was caught,
And so he carefully thought,
Better his death from Ram's hands,
Than from this devil's hands.

With the shape of a golden deer,
Mareecha to roam before her,
As she would fall for it
Ram would go to catch it.

When Ram left the hut,
It was the proper time fit,
To quickly abduct her,
And take her, with no fear.

This was the Ravan's plan,
That in his evil mind ran,
This way fate chased him mad,
As a start, for his end sad.
