Once I sat down to ponder
One thought crossed my mind
Who would solve my queries, I wonder
Where such a person can I find
Who has solved the puzzle called ‘Universe’
Which has long held mankind mystified.

Uncountable and splendid
As they are
They illuminate the world wide and far
Every single one of them is important
After all, Each one of them is a Star.

They circle the stars,
Their path bound by the star.
Like my pet dog called ‘STAR’,
They never run astray.
They don’t even emit a light ray
And bath in their master’s glory.
They are huge but still tiny.
After all they are the star’s pet.
We call them Planets.

These are not the only ones here.
They are not alone, don’t you fear.
There are other amazing objects in space,
running amuck, having fun all their lives.
They have no star to go around
They are the masters of their own life.
Colliding with a planet is what they should avoid
They are called asteroids.

Mysteries and confusion are evident here.
The possibility of change is the only constant here.
Any thing can change here before you know
One second you’d have everything, and,
The next second you have nothing to show.
What is the reason behind this I wonder!
Truly, mankind's’ mystification is justified.
