UNSUNG SOLILOQUY

I stirred awake
My eyes were blind
I rubbed my eyes
And I did find
I had cried a tear
I knew not when
And I heard a music,
a soothing paean

It was a waltzing wind
singing its wunderlust
Sashaying the sunlight
dancing on the dust.

As I looked around,
I did espy
Fluttering leaves afew,
as they floated by,
Leaves of autumn,
adorned in golden sheen.
Lust for life
still etched in the veins.

I stood and stared,
I saw them sail
They came to rest
as the curtain fell
As they floated around
in their feisty flight
I closed the door,
it dimmed the light.

The light had gone,
there ended the show.
The leaves they lay
resting on the floor,
To add to the dust,
to be swept aside.
And I was me again,
my eyes open wide.
