THE DARKEST SUNRISE

It was civilization's darkest sunrise
when hijacked planes flew into the high-rise

They were worlds best office blocks for all that mattered
Yet it is thousands of homes that lie shattered

Television crew were put to test
They shot gruesome images at their best

The world looked on with disbelief and horror
It was a "Live" telecast of "Death" and terror

The ball of fire rose high up above in the sky
As dark clouds of doom spread untold gloom

Glass, cement, steel, wood panels and iron
came crashing down without a siren

The sight of burnt, mangled bodies broke our hearts
For once upon a time they were our sweethearts

Spouseless - morose - orphaned children - grieve in pain
Everyone's faces so sad - hearts numb - oh what a shame!

For years he has held the world to ransom with his dark deeds
Yet, the world wakes up from a slumber only when America bleeds

Why did we turn a blind eye to his intentions
When he was sowing seeds through dubious connections?

How does he live with such a heinous crime?
Eats with hands coloured with blood and grime

How does he look into the eyes of his children
And repent not for his unforgivable sin

Peace, love and understanding snatched away
All inspired by a religious fervour so to say

Human consciousness has changed for worse forever
We now realise ultimately that animals are far superior

We are just fifteen minutes away from World War Three
How many more shall shed their blood - who can foresee?

It was civilization's darkest sunrise
When hijacked planes flew into the high-rise.
