You were
caught, weren’t you?
I watched you.
From under a
tired old tree.
Meager shelter.
The wind bit
me.
I shivered.
And watched
you.
You were
drenched
To the soul.
Lashed upon
As u stood
Confused.
Your bewildered
eyes searching
For reprieve
Protection
Shelter.
But you
didn’t see any.
And you were
bent over.
As hell’s
fury hurt you
Broke you
Split open your
heart
Tore apart your
being
Cast away the
fiber
Of your spirit.
I watched
you then
As the
angry skies dissipated
The
sadistic rain lessened
The cruelty
stopped.
And the
benevolent sun shone through
Some
embittered clouds.
You looked like
a lost child
A sad, lonely,
solitary being
Withered,
crushed, and in pain.
I reach out to
hold you
Hold you to my
heart
My beaten
worn-out bosom
Shush your
incoherent tears
Kiss your
forehead,
And that
question mark,
Away.
Just look
ahead
Don’t
look back.
You are
still alive.
Here.
Thank
God you are still here.
To
share it.
To grow
from it.
To
leave it behind.
And to
live to the next torrent.
Prepared...
