HOUSEWIFE
I wake up at the crack of dawn I’m showered and ready for the day Its time to get the kids up and about Dressed for school and on their way.
First one goes, and then the other And now its time for their dad I give him breakfast, his shoes and bag And the nicest kiss he’s ever had. They are all gone on their separate ways I rush about my daily chores. I do the cooking, laundry and go to my classes And stop by the grocery stores. Then the kids are back, its lunch time now They have lots of stories to tell I stuff their food into their little mouths Listening to how they cried when they fell. Afternoons are spent with pencils and paints Evenings are crazily hectic too I drive them to their activity classes Sometimes to the park, or the club or the zoo. Supper time and I’m feeding again Then I go tuck them into bed They are still fresh, insist on a story I’m ready to hit the sack instead.
Finally they are down, and hubby is home I give him dinner, have mine too He watches tv, I clear up the table There’s still some tidying left to do. Later when we are alone in bed He tells me he’s had a rough day I say ‘So have I’ and he snaps at me "What on earth do you housewives do all day??" ~ Aekta ~
