CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD?

Dancing at weddings, in their gaudy clothes
Blessing  the new born, singing their songs
Clapping their hands in their signature style
Sneering at those who don't play along

Begging for money one day every week
Threatening those who don't want to pay
Mocked and feared, exploited and trapped
Forced to live life the dubious way

Credited with powers they do not possess
Deserted the very moment they are born
Deprived of love , rejected by all
Of  rights and duties, heartlessly shorn

Called  freaks of nature, outcastes at best
Not man, not woman, but human still
Imperfect and different, like each one of us
Trying to find a reason to live

Existing on the fringes of  a confused  society
In the land of religions. where bigotry lords
They want  nothing but a decent chance at life
And to be accepted as children of God.
