THE SOLITARY FLOWER

The flower trembles in the wind
Pathetic and small
Lost and lonely as night falls
Skies have turned dark and grey
As sunshine quickly fades away
Lonely hopes whisper fleetingly
And the leaves flutter momentarily
But soon the rain will fall
In steady drops, covering all
And thunder will boom
The world has lost one more bloom.
