LUST AND LIES
Through thick and thin, over life's hills and vales Through health and malady, through joy and grief To love and cherish, for as long as forever will last We shall be together, till death do us apart
Simply words spoken at someone's behest No lie detector, no acid test Smile for the camera, pop goes the flash A new life begun, is the old laid to rest?
Curtains drawn, lights are dimmed Arching backs, entwined limbs, beads of sweat Eyes shut tight, quivering lips gasping for breath Sudden pulsating rush of ecstasy
Love abandoned, vows forgotten Untruths and betrayal become the rule Of a soul and mind that are scorched forever By red hot flames of amoral passion
"Believed in faith and trusted in love" Words on the tombstone of a heart that died On the altar of lust and lies
