EUTHANASIA
Staring blankly at something that I cannot see Groping for something just beyond my reach No sensation at all, just the numbing void of drugs Please let me go now, I’ve suffered enough Where I once stood strong, lies a frail frame that’s broken Where I sang to the world, there’s just an agonized cry Where I lived, loved and laughed, there is nothing but sorrow Please let me go now, please let me die Those voices that spoke with respect and awe Eyes that always held love and compassion for me They are all lowered now in helpless frustration Please let me go now, let me go in peace My thoughts are punishing, driving me mad No dignity remaining, wasting away on my bed Tubes sticking into my body, am covered in sores. Please let me go now, I’m better off dead
