CHIQUITA Looking out of the window, at the garden swing Memories come rushing like waves to the shore Eyes brimming with tears, threatening to fall And pictures of you as a laughing child
Your endearing giggles, long wavy hair The way you ate your eggs, sunny side up Your crushes, your heartbreaks, we shared them all And cried together, till we laughed them off
You grew up to be a fine young lady With a winsome face and a mind to match Doing us proud with every step you took Secure in the knowledge that your were loved
Our angel, our daughter, the joy of our lives You are more than just a part of us A gift from God, a friend forever One day, too soon, you had to leave
To find the world you wanted to conquer And for the man who won your heart To light up his life with your warming smile And fill your home with the magic of love
You’ve left our house, but not our hearts We’re with you, in spirit, in whatever you do Right here, if you should ever need us Waiting with open arms for you
Soon you’ll have children of your own And you’ll make a wonderful mother too But to us, you’ll remain our “Chiquita” Our little girl, forever, our wonderful child. ~Swati Chandran~
