A RED ROSE BUSH

Yes I have been pathetically in love
till one fine morning I realized
no one is worth shedding tears.
Least of all the one who causes them
Realization dawned
Love is like red rose bush
Beautiful and yet thorny

It was the realization of freedom
From the clutches of  pain
Which like a thorn tore and bled
Gently plucked the thorn
Wrapped it around roots of a sapling
And with a breath of kindness
Buried it under the soil

The sapling turned to a rose bush
Today it still blooms
But

I'im aware of the thorns
Never do I ever pluck a flower
Without gloves in my hands and
Always trim  with scissors
Any haywire branching out

Ill nurture it with all the care
Hope it lingers
Through my lifetime
And is  a joy for ever
But ill always be aware
Of the thorns that each blooming bud
Accompanies.

Handle it gently..
Catch the whiff of the fragrance
From a distance
And always remember
Rose bushes are no support for climbers
And stay away
Admire from a distance
