A DAY WITH A
GOLFER
Hubby was an avid golfer
Decided to join him
Rather than be left alone
Every now and then
Golf was to bridge the gap between
Soon the birdies and bogeys
Eagles and handicaps
I mastered technically
I knew a lie in a golf course
Was nothing sacrilegious
But merely the ball lying!
A handicap was nothing embarrassing
But just a method of equalizing a competition!
Tee was not the beverage but the strike
And the slice definitely was one deadly sin!
The long walks triggered an appetite
I pulled out an apple and CRUNCH..
A sharp turn from the concentrating husband
But by then the damage was done!
Down came the driver and the ball with terrible slice on it
hit the side of the hill and bounded into the ravine..
and there turned the hubby with a murderous look
I recalled "the deadly sin of slicing"
And walked back towards the exit without looking back
Golfers most of the times are best left alone!
