THE UNION If ever these two rivers should meet And follow together a course I’m sure the people looking on Would want to know its source.
Once they’d see a river so white Then a river so black And wonder at gray waters that flow Without ever going back.
They’d trek up and down the length Of the merged waters that they’d see And ask why they’re together headed On a headlong journey to the sea.
But the rivers follow their own path now Towards a future none can see Ignorant of the confluence ahead Which is their destiny. ~Siddharth Sanyal~
