So Easy To Kill

So easy to kill, so hard to die

I’ve just been killed and here I lie

For she has left, I have to stay

The memories just won’t go away.

To kill, you have to first give life

Be his lover, soulmate and wife

O’er days and months create a tie

That God nor Time would dare defy.

This you can, ‘cross a cyber screen

Or in the flesh with not a stitch between

It’s an easy path into man’s heart

Just be a woman, there’s no technique or art.

Just give him love, the feminine brand

He will give you his heart with his own hand

For you to care, to nurture and play

To break and take when you go away.

For go you must, all women do

Your feelings change, as they are bound to

They know to rationalise all so well

‘Tis ever man’s fault ; let him fry in hell !

Don’t shed a tear, when you turn the knife

He’d rather remember you, friend-lover-wife

With a smile on your lips and sparkling eyes

See the face he has lived for, before he dies.

But Death, this once, is a reluctant guest

Is Death a man too ? Guess God knows best !

So while there’s darkness and then there’s pain

I have to rise, start walking again.

For it’s woman, not Death, who has killed me

And I can’t expect any mercy

This burden of emptiness I must now carry

Can’t stop to shed tears for I cannot tarry.

As life goes on in a rhythmic tide

So does this shell where “I’” once did reside

I will miss the “I” as I’ll miss you

And mourn the “Us” that was we two.

I must will the tears, to die stillborn

Stem the blood flow, when every morn

I look at me with a sleepless eye

For dead men must not sleep, bleed or cry.

Let these tears be shed by those

Who will miss Raj, the day he goes

And let my blood carpet your path

While you walk away blinded in wrath.
