OF SILENCE AND SOLITUDE

The baby whom I held in my womb

And brought him to sunshine

Grew so quickly...

The years rushed by

As if in a marathon race

From toys to cricket games

Why it only feels like yesterday...

With each passing day

He acquired norms and society.

He'll soon one day

introduce me to a stranger

And with this new found love

Begin a new adventure.

Like a boat

He'll float away, far away

On the shore I shall remain

Staring

Into the paling horizon

Of silence and solitude.
