My
Friends And I
River
I love your constancy
On your journey to the sea
I wish we would learn from you
How faithful one should be
Trees you silent sentinels
Your unwavering faith I salute
And reeds though you bend
You make the sweetest lute
Sea, my angry friend
You never fail to crash
Giving your bounty freely
To those who are most rash
Wind, you sometimes soothe me
Sometimes you blow me down
I love you in every form
Except when you frown
Clouds I like your shade
When you hide me from the sun
And even when you cry
It can be really fun
Blue skies above me
The biggest canopy that you make
Though you hug the earth yonder
The far horizons are just fake
Carry me o friends of mine
I am only part of you
When I find you within me
I am born anew.
