Friendship Day

for a friend

There are billions of stars zooming across the milky way
there are billions of moments
accounting for a lifetime
As a child, I had often thought of holding on
to billions of moments, and so many stars in my little hand
or to have them twinkle around in my room
As I grew up, I lived in so many moments
and could hold a few stars for some time
... and then, all of a sudden, from the depths of milky way
I ran into a star
I had known as a child
he also shared my dreams of holding on to so many stars
his twinkle had transformed into the bright twinkle of his eyes
as some brilliant idea would strike him..
he would move with the speed of light, if he had to execute the idea
he has the warmth of a thousand suns,
when it comes to his feelings for his friends
and I can find him on my sky, even if he may be light-years away
I don't even know what his birthday is
for one need not know the date a star twinkled
but I would like him to keep twinkling
till eternity
in the sky of friends as a star
fondly known as --SHAILEY
