FAREWELL

You said you needed me

That’s why I was there

To stay when you don’t

Would certainly be unfair

Because I’m now lacking

You need pastures new

This field lies dry

And the grass is few

I’ll seek out people

Who I know are in need

And within their dark breast

Plant a comforting seed

Like I did for you

When you were sad

I filled your heart with hope

For that I’m so glad

On your new journey

Let me wish you well

Through this poem, my friend

Let me bid you farewell.
